– Our Story
In 2022, I discovered Meshtastic, an affordable, open-source mesh radio platform revolutionizing private-sector communication. As a tech enthusiast, amateur radio operator, and advocate for emergency preparedness, I was hooked. I spent countless hours tinkering with many types of devices, optimizing ranges, and exploring their potential to keep communities connected when traditional systems fail. But I also saw their limits: range constraints, low data rates, and the need for expert configuration to unlock their full power. That spark of discovery, coupled with a vision to empower others, led to the founding of EmComm Solutions in early 2024.
At EmComm Solutions, our mission is simple yet vital: to equip individuals, businesses, and organizations with the knowledge and tools to deploy advanced mesh radio systems. The rise of mesh radios, fueled by accessible Meshtastic devices, has transformed how we prepare for emergencies. From wildfires to power outages, decentralized mesh networks offer reliable, off-grid communication when it matters most. Yet, navigating this technology can be daunting. That’s where EmComm Solutions comes in.
We don’t just teach you how to use mesh radios, we guide you to build robust communication plans tailored to your needs. Whether you’re a prepared citizen safeguarding your family, a first responder coordinating in a crisis, or a private professional ensuring operational continuity, we provide expert resources, consulting, and future hands-on training. Our approach goes beyond Meshtastic, addressing its limitations by integrating advanced systems like high-data-rate Kaonic 1S radios for tactical applications.
My journey with mesh network technology is ongoing, driven by a passion to innovate and a commitment to community resilience. At EmComm Solutions, we’ve helped clients from rural homesteaders to Private Professionals stay connected in the toughest scenarios. Our vision is to make reliable, decentralized communication accessible to all, ensuring no one is left in the dark during a crisis.
Join us at EmComm Solutions. Let’s build your communication future, one node at a time. Ready to get started? Explore our resources or connect with us today to elevate your emergency preparedness.

In this video, I review the Braver Systems LBM series of Low Bandwidth MANET radios. Braver Systems currently offers three versions of the LBM radio, each designed for resilient, off-grid mesh communication. I cover real-world field testing, key specifications, potential use cases, pricing, and my final thoughts on who these radios are best suited for.
In this first episode of Mesh Talk, we kick things off with a roundtable discussion on one of the most interesting developments in decentralized communications: Reticulum (RNS). I’m joined by two guests with different but highly relevant backgrounds: Guy Royse: software developer with deep experience in distributed systems Dude: blockchain developer and creator of Ratspeak We break down where Reticulum stands today, how it compares to other mesh and decentralized communication tools, and where it might be heading next. Our conversation goes beyond surface level as we get into real-world use, limitations, scalability, and how these systems could fit into modern mesh network communication strategies.
In today’s video we dive into what makes Nucleus different in today’s mesh ecosystem how it is combining long-range LoRa with high-speed Wi-Fi (2.4 Ghz) mesh to create flexible, infrastructure-independent networks. Nate shares the origin story behind Natak Mesh, the problem he set out to solve, and how Nucleus fits into emergency communications, disaster response, and off-grid networking.
In today’s video, I sit down with Rob, founder of Constellation Response, to talk shop about mesh networking and real-world emergency communications. We cover Meshtastic, MeshCore, Reticulum, ATAK, drone integration, and how these technologies are being applied in disaster response and austere environments. If you’re building resilient comms beyond cellular and internet infrastructure, this one’s for you.
